We are 42 years old and have formed a couple for over 16 years. We live in Montreal. We share many interests and, although our personalities are quite different, they are also very complementary. Our child will grow up in a loving, harmonious, and stable family.

Jean-François is originally from Quebec City. He has a youngest sister, who has four children of her own, of whom we are very close. His passion for art and drawing led him to complete a bachelor’s degree in architecture. Driven by an interest in people and wellbeing, he studied to become a doctor. For several years now, he has been working with young adults who experience psychosis. He is also interested in psychotherapy.

Yannick was born and raised in Lac-Saint-Jean, Quebec. He is the youngest of four children; his siblings have children of their own. He moved to Quebec City to undertake his university studies. Today, he works as a hospital pharmacist and has a specialized practice in geriatrics. He is also involved in teaching and research.

We value our relationships and live surrounded by family and friends. We like to have conversations, share a good meal, go hiking or attend artistic events with our loved ones. We also enjoy talking, laughing, and discovering the world with our siblings’ and friends’ children. Our child will grow up in a lively and diverse environment.

We have many interests. Art allows us to refocus when life is frenetic; it sparks our curiosity, encourages us to question life and broaden our perspectives of the world. We enjoy visiting museums and like to be surrounded by objects and artworks that have history and meaning. Like books, art will be part of our child’s life.

We love to travel to explore architecture, landscapes, and new cultures, as well as to savor new cuisines. Travelling allows us to escape from everyday life. It is also a way to promote introspection and openness to others. In 2018, we spent an unforgettable year in London and Paris, where we made new friends. We also have fond memories of precious moments with visiting relatives during this period.

Our project with you

The idea of becoming parents has been with us for a long time. The long path to this dream has often seemed complicated. Whatsoever, our desire to start a family has grown. In recent years, we have enjoyed special moments with our friends and their inspiring families created through surrogacy. Meanwhile, a close relative spontaneously has offered us to carry our child. For medical reasons, this project was not possible. We were moved by her sensitivity and generosity. She saw us as future parents and wanted to give us the chance to experience this adventure.

We are followed up at the Reproductive Centre of the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) in Montreal where care is provided in English or French. We have four good quality embryos. It is exciting as each step brings us closer to our goal of becoming fathers. We are therefore searching for a surrogate to discuss with.

The first meeting will offer the opportunity to get to know each other and share our motivations and expectations as surrogate and intended parents. It will be important to discuss together the nature of the future relationship, knowing that an exceptional bond will unite us. To get through the stages of this intimate and challenging process, good communication and mutual trust appear essential elements. We wish to support the surrogate the best we can, and our calm attitude and our ability to listen will be helpful.
