We are Simon and Matthew, from Burlington, Ontario. We have 9 GPT-A tested embryos waiting for the magic to happen.
We met in 2018 through a dating app and quickly realized we had something special. After spending time together and getting to know each other, we committed to moving in together. Two years after that, we got married during the pandemic. Despite the challenges of the time, we were promised lifelong to each other, and we couldn’t be happier. As a same-sex couple, being married to each other feels like a huge milestone, especially after finding each other across the world. After a few years together, we still felt that something was still missing – a family we would call our own.
In June 2024, we successfully created our embryos – an important milestone that filled us with hope and marked the renewal of excitement for this journey. We are anxiously awaiting the next step. The journey of a child’s arrival is one of immense emotional and personal significance. We have so much love to give, and the desire to protect and nurture. We are prepared to embrace our surrogate with open hearts as we embark on this extraordinary journey together.
About Simon:
Simon is a creative soul with a big heart. As a graphic designer, he loves bringing ideas to life, but his passions go far beyond his work. He finds joy in art, nature, gardening, and DIY projects that bring beauty and meaning to everyday life. Growing up as an only child in a loving and supportive family, Simon’s parents encouraged his curiosity, shaped his creativity, and deep appreciation for family. Being the only child gave Simon a strong sense of responsibility and a heartfelt desire to build a warm, loving home. His kind, thoughtful nature and creative energy are at the heart of everything he does, and he’s so excited to pour that same love and care into becoming a parent.
About Matthew:
Matthew is a dedicated quality engineer with a passion for problem-solving and precision. Beyond his career, he finds joy in hands-on hobbies like rock climbing and woodworking, where he can challenge himself and create something meaningful. He is calm and steady, always bringing patience and thoughtfulness into everything he does. As a partner, he is loving, supportive, and deeply committed. He had a very loving childhood with easygoing parents who taught his to treat others the way he would like to be treated. He aspires to be an amazing father, giving his child all the love and support they need to thrive in life.
For us, family is built on love and connection. We want to create a home where our child feels safe, supported, and proud of who they are. Through surrogacy, we hope to start this incredible journey, building a life full of shared moments, traditions, and joy. We want to create a family that celebrates who we are — both our Chinese and Canadian roots. These traditions mean so much to us, and we hope to pass them on to our child in a way that feels genuine and meaningful.
As a same-sex couple, surrogacy gives us the incredible chance to welcome a child who shares a piece of our story and reflects the beautiful blend of our cultures. Becoming parents is a dream we’ve held close to our hearts. We’re excited to love, guide, and care for a child in a home filled with warmth, understanding, and opportunity. Surrogacy makes this possible for us, and we see it as a way to bring together the best of our backgrounds, values, and hopes for the future.
After more than a year dedicated to creating our embryos, we’ve successfully created nine embryos, five of which are GPT-A tested. Reaching this milestone was deeply emotional for us — knowing how much it means to both our families. Matthew’s parents are getting older, and for Simon, being the only child, the dream of continuing his family’s story has significant cultural meaning.
We live in a safe, family-friendly neighbourhood in Burlington, Ontario. The area is surrounded by parks, excellent public schools, and convenient shopping plazas. Everything we need—from hospitals and shopping malls to beautiful provincial parks—is within a 15-minute drive.
Our home is cozy and welcoming, with a spacious living area and a backyard that’s perfect for playtime and family gatherings. We plan to raise our child here because it’s a diverse and inclusive community where children can truly thrive. We also live close to good friends who offer a strong sense of support. We’re confident this is a nurturing environment where our child will feel loved, accepted, and encouraged to reach their full potential.
Simon: “From a young age, I was drawn to art and nature, always creating and exploring. I have a love for art, nature, and hands-on projects, always finding beauty in the little things. Current goals for me include building a loving family, growing as a creative professional & deepening my connection with nature.”
Matthew: “I enjoy rock climbing for its physical and mental challenges, as well as the wonderful friendships I’ve built along the way. I love building guitars and playing music. This hobby has taught me patience and commitment, skills that have shaped both my creativity and perseverance. I want to continue growing in my career as a professional Quality Engineer, which I truly enjoy.”
We are profoundly grateful to anyone willing to help us on this journey, recognizing the immense generosity and kindness it takes to be a surrogate. We are committed to being there every step of the way, offering emotional, physical, and logistical support to ensure a smooth and positive experience. We know how much emotional investment has to be committed towards being a surrogate and we’ll be with her every step of the way whenever needed. We will ensure she has everything she needs to feel secure and supported throughout the journey.
We deeply respect our surrogate’s role in this journey and will always prioritize her well-being, choices, and comfort. Eventually, we want to build a family with love, but it wouldn’t be possible without our surrogate. If our surrogate is open to it, we would love to build a lasting bond and stay connected beyond the surrogacy process.
Finding a surrogate is one of the most significant decisions in our lives. It’s a journey built on trust, understanding, and shared hopes for the future. We hope to find a surrogate who is empathetic, genuinely passionate, and fully committed to helping others create a family.
From the bottom of our hearts, we are grateful for the incredible women who choose to help families like ours, and we can’t wait to meet someone who will forever hold a special place in our lives as we embark on this beautiful journey together!
