About

Thank you for taking the time to review and visit our profile! I’m Karima (I also go by Mariam), and my husband is Omair, and we live in Whitby, ON. We first met over 14 years ago through a mutual connection—one of my best friends and one of his cousins. Our initial meeting quickly led to a deep connection, and we’ve been inseparable ever since. We tied the knot in August 2013 and have been happily married since then. We look forward to sharing more about our journey and hope to find someone who can help us build our family.

Omair grew up with a close-knit family with 2 older sisters, 1 brother and over 30 first cousins in Ontario and Quebec. You can only imagine how large family gatherings were and how much fun it is with that many cousins. Omair is super close to his father especially after the tragic loss of his mother in 2023.
On the other hand, Karima’s upbringing revolved around a small but close family. I grew up with three brothers, creating a lively and energetic household. Tragedy struck in 2009 when my youngest brother passed away from cancer at the age of 18, a loss that deeply affected my family. I also have a cousin in Canada who is a key part of my extended family network, providing an additional layer of connection and support.
Through these experiences, we learned the value of resilience, love, and the importance of holding on to the people who matter most. This strong sense of family and community has shaped who we are and how we approach relationships and has inspired us to build a similarly loving environment for our future child.

My husband Omair and I have faced significant challenges on our journey to start a family. I’ve battled breast cancer twice, with the first diagnosis occurring when I was 29 years old. Alongside that, I have had endometriosis and fibroids, conditions that required surgeries to remove my uterus and one ovary. Unfortunately, due to a rare genetic mutation called Li-Fraumeni syndrome, I am carefully watched by multiple oncologists, yearly MRI’s, blood work, and regular immunotherapy treatments. Despite these hurdles, we’ve remained hopeful about building our family through surrogacy.

We live in a friendly neighborhood with a strong sense of community. It’s a place where children play outside, and neighbors know each other by name. There are excellent schools nearby and a water park behind our home, which is perfect for raising a family. Our home has 4 bedrooms with a large backyard we like to set up with many outdoor games including badminton. We envision our future child playing in the backyard and spending time at the local playground.

Omair and I are both bankers who enjoy our careers in the risk and financial crime industry. We love spending time together, whether it’s exploring new restaurants, traveling to new places, or just watching movies at home with our cats, Nala and Puma, who are a huge part of our lives and bring us so much joy. Omair enjoys working out on a daily basis at the gym whereas I enjoy reading books and envisioning myself in my own home library one day.

We are committed to supporting our surrogate throughout the entire process. This includes covering all her costs and expenses, such as medical bills, maternity clothes, travel expenses, and any other costs that may arise. We want her to feel comfortable and supported at every step of the journey, knowing that she is helping us achieve our dream.

We value open communication, respect and are open to building a relationship with our surrogate based on her comfort level. Whether she prefers frequent updates and visits or prefers a more private approach, we will respect her wishes. We would love to keep in touch after the pregnancy and maintain an ongoing connection, but the extent of that relationship will ultimately be up to her.

Thank you for reading our story and considering being our surrogate. We understand the incredible gift you’re offering and cannot express how grateful we are. You would be helping us fulfill our dream of having a family, and we would be honored to have you as part of our journey.
