Hi from across the pond! We’re Mitchell and Michiel, a fun-loving couple from a charming little village near Amsterdam called Nederhorst den Berg, where the air is fresh, and nature is practically our neighbor. Our home is filled with love, laughter, and the gentle purring of our two cats, Vos (Fox) and Muis (Mouse), who think they’re the bosses of the house. 🐈 🐈‍

We’ve been together for over a decade, and from day one, we knew we wanted to start a family. Our journey together started in healthcare—Mitchell is a psychiatric nurse, and Michiel is also a nurse, but works as a director in elderly care—so our daily lives are all about caring for others and spreading joy. We’re convinced these qualities make us ready to be wonderful, hands-on parents.

But don’t let the serious careers fool you; Because beyond all this serious and important stuff, we also believe in staying grounded and never taking life too seriously! For us, it’s important to keep things in perspective, down to earth and humor plays a big role in that.

We’re always having a blast with our nieces, who live nearby. You can often find us paddleboarding or swimming in the lake near our house, going on ice cream runs, and devouring way too many Dutch poffertjes and stroopwafels. We can’t wait to share these moments and traditions with a little one!

If you decide to embark on this incredible journey with us as our surrogate, we’d be over the moon to meet you in person. Sure, FaceTime is great for bridging the Atlantic, but we believe there’s no substitute for a good old-fashioned, face-to-face chat. A trip to Canada is a small gesture on our part compared to the incredible gift you’re considering giving us, and we’re beyond grateful for that. In fact, we’re already visited beautiful Canada last september, to get to know the country, the people and the wonderful nature! We travelled around with the RV through Ontario and fell in love with Canada. We hope that our future child may be born here. So special that you want to enter into surrogacy. What an adventure! We hope to embark on this adventure together. 🤩

We want to be there for you throughout the entire pregnancy, offering support in any way you need. Even if we can’t always be there in person, we’ll be just a call or message away. And of course, we’ll cover all the costs related to the pregnancy.

Building an open connection with you is important to us. We’d love to share more about our lives and show you the place where your generosity will help create a new life. And we’re just as excited to learn about you. Whatever you’re comfortable with, we’d be delighted to welcome you to our home and show you around the Netherlands. Of course during grow up, we loved to stay in contact with you, and exchange stories and pictures from our child. Maybe down the road, we could even plan visits with our child to experience the beauty of Canada.
