Our Story:
We’re Hannah and David (sometimes Dave) a married couple in Toronto, looking for help to have our first (non furry four legged) child. We met in the backyard of our good mutual friends. Within a month, we moved in with each other. In under 6 months, we were engaged. Soon after, we adopted our pup, Beans.
We cherish the small things in the everyday: a meal cooked from scratch, a walk in the dog park, FaceTiming my niece to hear about her day, the first homegrown strawberry of the season.
We can squeeze joy out of the seemingly mundane things. And even amid more turbulent times, life feels sweet.
Our Support:
The joy and strength of our relationship is only mirrored by our support system. Hannah’s big, chaotic and wildly caring family, and Dave’s small, quieter, and wholly loving one. They would all move mountains for us (and we have no doubt, for our future surrogate and baby, too). We both have friendships dating back to our childhood days, that have stood the test of time. We have people who are cheering us on, friends and friends’ kids ready to watch us become parents.
Why Surrogacy?:
Hannah was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease at 19, a stroke followed at 23. Due to the ongoing nature of the diseases and treatments, we learned it was unsafe for her to carry a pregnancy.
We didn’t think parenthood was a possibility for us. With the help of our support system and those we’ve met in the surrogacy community- now we know it is!
For years now, we’ve been ready and trying to grow our family to have our first child. We feel immense gratitude and privilege that we get to be on this journey.

A bit more about us:
David is the kind of person you want in your corner. He takes care of the people he loves, fiercely. He works hard, and likes to keep busy. Now working in electrical, and with a background from AV to culinary, he’s a jack of all trades AND a master of fun. You’ll often find him working on home projects (of which we have many…). When he’s not hard at work, he likes to spend his time hiking, kayaking, golfing, playing tennis, most recently learning pickle ball, and throwing together the most delicious meals. Dinner at ours?
He’s going to be the active parent with energy to spare. And his energy is contagious! He can’t wait to immerse our child in all the activities. Gymnastics? Soccer? Piano? Gardening? Whatever they decide.
Hannah would take care of everybody if she could. She’s always been super steadfast in her pursuits but also very playful around the people she loves. With a background in environmental education, community organizing and food access in Toronto, she’s sure to strike up conversation and break bread with anybody. She operates best with lots of snacks around and can be bribed with sweet treats. She likes to spend her time hiking and kayaking with Dave, with her nieces and nephew, growing food, and dreaming up what’s for dinner. She’s going to be the parent that ensures a healthy dose of outdoor play and awe for the world around us.

We don’t want to write up some idealized version of our journey, because it belongs to all of us- so let’s write it together. We look forward to getting to know you and learning about the special ways we can honour this journey and the way it could look for us all.
We can’t wait to meet you! We hope to build a relationship that is meaningful before, during, and after this journey. We hope to have values and interests that align regarding a pregnancy and life in general. We hope we can sit at a dinner table and have hundreds of things to chat about.
We know just how important it is to cover the big matching points, but we also want to know the other stuff…
Sweet or salty? What ice cream flavour will we be delivering at midnight? Do you prefer to communicate via text, phone call, memes? How do you de-stress after a hard day? Are you also terrified of sharks?
