Thank you for taking the time to read our story and for considering such a generous gift. We can’t imagine a more meaningful act of kindness, and we’d be honoured to share this journey with you.
We’re Carlos and Graeme, a loving couple from Vancouver, BC. We’re family-oriented, active, and always ready for our next adventure. We met four years ago playing soccer with Out for Kicks, Vancouver’s LGBTQ2+ friendly soccer club, where a few clumsy tackles and shared laughs sparked something special.
Since then, we’ve built a life filled with laughter, love, and exploration—traveling to over 30 countries, playing soccer, pickleball, and spikeball, and spending plenty of quality time with friends, family, and our beloved dog, Whisky.
Next summer, we’ll marry in Spain, a celebration bringing together loved ones from around the world, and especially meaningful with Carlos’ Spanish roots. We can’t wait to one day share this love, joy, and sense of adventure with a child.
Even though Carlos grew up in sunny Spain and Graeme in beautiful Canada, our childhoods had a lot in common — both were full of love, support, and close family bonds. Family has always been the center of our lives. Carlos is the big brother to a wonderful sister who’s now married with two adorable baby girls. Graeme is the youngest of three brothers, both happily married — one with a daughter, and the other with a daughter and a son.
We’re both very close to our parents, who have always been our biggest cheerleaders. Whether we’re in Spain, Canada, or somewhere in between, family gatherings mean laughter echoing through the house, big home-cooked meals, and stories that bridge continents.
Our families couldn’t be more supportive of our dream to become parents. We know our future child will grow up surrounded not just by us, but by a whole team of loving grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins who can’t wait to welcome them with open arms.
As a same-sex couple, we’ve always known that becoming parents would be a little different for us — and that it would take finding the right path and the right people to make it happen. While we don’t have children yet, the dream of building a family together has been in our hearts for years.
After a lot of thought, preparation, and some very exciting steps forward, we’ve chosen surrogacy as the way to grow our family. We’re working closely with a wonderful fertility clinic and already have embryos ready for when the time is right.
We feel so lucky to live in a time and place where surrogacy is possible, and we’re deeply grateful for the chance to share this journey with someone who’s willing to help us make our dream of parenthood a reality. For us, it’s more than just a process — it’s the start of a lifelong connection built on trust, respect, and shared joy.
We live in a bright, spacious home in a friendly, vibrant part of Vancouver, BC. Our neighborhood is filled with parks, playgrounds, and green spaces, with the beach and mountains just a short trip away. There’s always something happening nearby, and we love the sense of energy and community here.
It’s important to us that our child grows up in a safe, nurturing environment where they can explore, learn, and feel connected. Vancouver offers the best of both worlds — a lively city full of opportunities and a close-knit community that truly feels like home.
We’re lucky to be close to excellent schools, community centers, and sports facilities, as well as beautiful walking paths for adventures with our dog, Whisky. We can’t wait to create happy memories here with our future child, surrounded by a loving network of friends and family.
Carlos is a professor at the University of British Columbia — a role he’s passionate about and grateful for because it offers stability, excellent family benefits, and a flexible schedule. Graeme is a project manager for a local engineering firm, where he enjoys bringing people and ideas together to make projects a reality.
Our dog, Whisky, is a big part of our lives — playful, gentle, and always ready for a walk or cuddle. We love staying active, whether that’s playing soccer, pickleball, hiking in the mountains, or biking around the city.
We also enjoy quiet evenings at home cooking dinner, watching movies, or hosting game nights with friends. Sundays are for our favorite tradition: takeout and a movie before bed.
We look forward to sharing all of these adventures, big and small, with our future child.
From the very start, it’s important to us that our surrogate feels cared for, respected, and appreciated. We will cover all expenses related to pre-pregnancy, pregnancy, and postpartum recovery so she can focus entirely on her health and well-being.
But for us, support is about much more than the financial side — it’s about being present, checking in, and making sure she always feels valued and heard. Whether that’s attending appointments together (if she’d like), sending little notes of encouragement, or celebrating milestones, we want her to know she’s never alone on this journey.
After the birth, we’ll make sure she has the time, care, and resources she needs to rest and recover. Above all, we hope this experience is built on trust, kindness, and genuine connection — something that lasts well beyond the pregnancy itself.
We’d love to have a relationship with our surrogate that feels genuine, comfortable, and built on trust. During the pregnancy, we imagine staying connected through regular updates, messages, and visits when possible, and celebrating milestones together — from the first ultrasound to the day we meet our baby.
After the birth, we’d like to keep in touch in whatever way feels right for her — sharing occasional updates and photos, and possibly visits if that’s something she’d enjoy. We know this journey creates a unique and meaningful bond, and we’d be grateful to keep that connection going.
Above all, we want our surrogate to feel appreciated and cared for, and we’re happy to shape the relationship in a way that feels comfortable for everyone involved.
If we’re lucky enough to be matched, we promise to support you every step of the way and to make sure you always feel valued and appreciated. From the bottom of our hearts — thank you for helping make our dream of becoming parents possible.
With gratitude,
