We’re Nico and Rey, a married couple living in Vancouver, BC. We’ve been together for 11 years and married for 7.
We met in Indonesia while working at the same hospital. Although we were colleagues for some time, we truly got to know each other when we were assigned to the same project. What started as simple conversations gradually grew into a strong and loving relationship built on trust, support, and understanding.
We complement each other well—Rey is more organized and enjoys planning, while Nico is easygoing, outgoing, and brings warmth and positive energy into our lives.
We enjoy traveling, discovering new foods, and spending time with friends and family. Our weekends are a mix of staying active—like soccer or hiking—and enjoying quieter moments at home cooking, watching movies, or simply relaxing together.
Family has always been at the center of our lives. Rey has two younger brothers and a nephew, while Nico has an older brother with three children and a younger brother. Being involved in our nieces’ and nephews’ lives has made us even more excited to become parents.
Our families live in Indonesia and are very supportive of our journey. Rey’s mother is currently visiting us, and moments like these remind us how important family is to us.
Even though they are far away, our families are excited to be part of our child’s life. Our child will grow up surrounded by love, strong values, and a meaningful connection to their cultural roots.
As a same-sex couple, building a family in Indonesia was not possible for us. Even so, the dream of becoming parents has always been part of our relationship.
In 2019, we made the decision to move to Canada to build a future together and pursue that dream. Since then, we’ve taken thoughtful steps to prepare for this journey.
Today, we are ready. We have frozen embryos prepared at our clinic in Vancouver, and we feel hopeful and excited to take this next step. This will be our first child, and becoming parents truly means everything to us.
We live in a condo in downtown Vancouver with easy access to parks, schools, and community spaces. It’s a safe and vibrant area with plenty of opportunities to explore and enjoy everyday life.
As our family grows, we plan to move into a house to create more space. We look forward to simple moments like park visits, outdoor activities, and spending quality time together as a family.
Rey works as an IT Manager and enjoys helping things run smoothly behind the scenes so others can do their work more easily. Nico is a pharmacist, and he finds a lot of meaning in caring for patients and being part of the community he serves. While our jobs are quite different, we both value the stability they provide and the opportunity to build a comfortable, balanced life together as we prepare for parenthood.
We enjoy traveling, trying new foods, and exploring new places together. Rey enjoys playing soccer, while Nico prefers more relaxed activities like shopping and movies. Together, we love cooking, discovering new restaurants, and spending time at home.
We don’t have pets, but we truly enjoy being around children and look forward to sharing our lives, traditions, and everyday moments with our future child.
We will cover all expenses related to pre-pregnancy, pregnancy, and postpartum recovery so our surrogate can focus fully on her health and well-being.
We want her to feel supported, respected, and appreciated throughout the journey. We’re happy to attend appointments if she’s comfortable, stay connected through regular communication, and celebrate important milestones together.
To us, this journey is built on trust, respect, and gratitude.
We hope to build a genuine and supportive relationship with our surrogate, with regular communication and shared milestones throughout the pregnancy.
After the birth, we would be happy to stay in touch through updates or visits, depending on what feels comfortable. We truly value the connection formed through this journey.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for taking the time to read our story. We know this journey requires incredible generosity, and we would be deeply grateful to share it with someone who is willing to help us grow our family.
