We’re Stefan (39) and Daniel (35). We’ve been together for fifteen years and married for three. We met in our early twenties and have basically grown up together, figuring out life side by side. Stefan runs an IT services company and Daniel is a chef, which means between the two of us, your computer will work and you will be well fed 😉 

We live in Vancouver near the Seawall with our 1.5 year old Labradoodle, Gio, who considers greeting every passing child his personal mission. We chose this neighbourhood with a family in mind — parks, beaches, and trails all within walking distance. We didn’t build a life and then try to squeeze a child into the gaps. We built one with space already in it.

Both of our families are close by and deeply woven into our everyday lives. Stefan’s parents are here in Vancouver, practically counting the days until another grandchild arrives. Daniel has four siblings and seven nieces and nephews who already see him as the resident fun uncle. If you want to understand our family, picture a Sunday evening at our place: Daniel has cooked dinner for everyone, both families are crowded around the table, Gio is playing with the kids in the other room, and it’s loud and messy and nobody wants to leave. That’s who we are.

Daniel has known he wanted to be a dad since he was a kid himself. For Stefan, it hit all at once — in 2023 he held his nephew for the first time and in that moment knew he wanted to be a dad one day.

We started this journey in 2024, and it hasn’t been easy. Our first egg retrieval produced nothing viable and we had to start over from scratch. That was a painful chapter. But we picked ourselves up, tried again, and now have two PGT-A tested frozen embryos. As a gay couple, nothing about building a family comes automatically. Every step has been intentional, and honestly, that’s only made us more grateful. 

We want you to know that you will be well supported financially during our journey. You won’t have to worry about a single cost or expense, and if something comes up that hasn’t been anticipated — childcare, extra support at home, anything at all — we want you to feel comfortable telling us. We’d rather over-support than under-support. But beyond the practical side, we also want a real relationship with you. We’d love to be at appointments, to be in the delivery room if you’re comfortable with that, and to stay connected long after the birth. Your role in our child’s life will never be hidden or whispered about. It will be celebrated, because our child deserves to know the remarkable woman who helped bring them here.
