Hello, and thank you so much for taking the time to read my story.

My name is Alexandre. I live in Montreal and I am on the path to becoming a single father through surrogacy. Becoming a parent has always been one of my greatest dreams, something I have carried in my heart for as long as I can remember. Life has led me to pursue this journey on my own and I feel incredibly fortunate to be at a point where that dream is finally within reach.

I am a dentist and the owner of a private dental clinic, which I have built with care and dedication over the years. It is a profession I love, grounded in empathy, trust and meaningful relationships. Having my own clinic gives me a lot of flexibility in my schedule and, most importantly, the ability to step away from work when my child arrives. I have made intentional choices to organize my professional life so that I can take time off and fully devote myself to being a present and engaged parent during those crucial early years. Becoming a father is not something I want to fit into my life: it’s something I have shaped my life around.

I have chosen to grow my family using an egg donor and IVF, with the support of a fertility clinic in Toronto (4 embryos grade 4AA). While this journey hasn’t always been easy, it has been guided by a strong sense of hope, purpose and love. I am deeply aware of the emotional and physical commitment that surrogacy involves and I am approaching this process with the utmost respect and gratitude for the woman who will carry my child.

Outside of work, I am a naturally curious and open-hearted person. I love to travel and explore new places. It helps me stay grounded, inspired and connected to the world. I have been lucky to experience many different cultures and I hope to pass on that curiosity and openness to my child. I also enjoy cooking (especially Sunday dinners with friends), discovering new restaurants (always looking for that perfect cozy spot) and spending quality time with the people I love. Staying active is important to me. I enjoy biking, going to the gym and taking long walks through the city. I find joy in both simple pleasures and meaningful connections.

My friends and family would probably describe me as kind, steady, loyal and emotionally available. I am someone who listens, who shows up and who invests in the people I care about. I believe in parenting with presence, softness, structure and offering a child the freedom to be who they are, while always knowing they are loved, supported and safe.

One thing that gives me great comfort and confidence in this journey is the incredible support system I have around me. My parents, sibling, extended family and close friends are not only supportive of my decision to pursue fatherhood through surrogacy, they are genuinely excited. I have had so many beautiful conversations with loved ones who can’t wait to be part of this child’s life, whether through helping hands in the early months, sharing family traditions or simply being a stable and loving presence. I may be starting this journey as a single parent, but I will never be raising this child alone.

To the incredible woman who may carry my future child: thank you. Your strength, generosity and heart are truly remarkable. I know that carrying a child for someone else is one of the most selfless and meaningful acts a person can do. Whether we share a close connection throughout this journey or simply navigate it with mutual respect and understanding, please know that I will always be deeply grateful for the role you play in helping me build my family. You are making something extraordinary possible and I will never take that for granted.
