Both Brooke and Pat grew up playing soccer and continued playing on co-ed teams in the city in their 20s. They were invited to a team in the city by mutual friends and met on the soccer field in 2017. As the season unfolded, so did their relationship and found that they had a lot in common and became good friends. Brooke and Pat married in October of 2020 in beautiful Maryland!
Brooke and Pat grew up in Maryland in loving, traditional families.
Pat has one brother, Eddie. His mom, Kathy, is a talented music teacher who dedicated over 30 years to working with children. She enjoys singing, playing the piano and other instruments, and performing in bands. Pat’s dad, Ed, worked as an engineer specializing in aircraft and planes. Growing up, Pat’s family shared a close bond, spending time together on vacations, playing and watching sports, enjoying the company of their family dogs, and connecting with their extended family.
Brooke has one brother, Patrick. Her mom, Margo, was a stay-at-home mom and later pursued a career as a preschool teacher. Her dad, Tom, was an accountant who worked in Washington, D.C. Brooke and him shared a special bond until his unexpected passing in 2008. As a family, they love spending time together, whether taking trips to the beach, visiting New York City, or attending sports games—experiences that shaped her love for family traditions and shared memories.
Brooke and Pat have always dreamed about having a family that included children. They pursued fertility treatments and multiple rounds of IVF after struggling to get pregnant. Despite being healthy and doctors giving them highest odds of success, they continued to get pregnant with fertility treatments but later miscarry. They knew something was wrong after losing five babies.
Brooke was diagnosed with an autoimmune disorder that only flares during pregnancy. APS causes her body to produce a high level of clotting antibodies which cuts off blood supply to the baby. Medications have not worked and knowing this diagnosis, surrogacy seems to be their only option for their remaining embryos.
Brooke and Pat have been trying to start their family for over 3 years. They don’t have any living children but have five PGTA normal embryos frozen. They are excited for this journey and matching with a surrogate who can give their embryos the gift of life!
Brooke and Pat have created a stable lifestyle to welcome children to their family. They purchased a nice home in the suburbs with top schools. Their home has four bedrooms upstairs and an in-law suite in the basement for friends and family to stay the night.
Their home is in a quiet court that is surrounded by nature. It backs to a creek and woods and we love spending time outdoors, whether they are snuggling up to watch a movie on the outdoor tv, playing frisbee with our dog, entertaining friends and family, or just relaxing and listening to the birds. They have a nice sized yard and a small hill great for sledding in the winter!
The neighborhood is family oriented and has events throughout the year for children like block parties with moon bounces, parades, outdoor movie nights, and other activities.
Brooke has a graphic design background and went back to school to get a Masters degree in UX design. She works for a Canadian-American company in finance as a senior product designer. She works from home full-time which will give their family flexibility once they have children. Her hobbies include playing soccer and kickball, Irish dancing, babysitting for local families, yoga, design (crafting, interior design, graphic design), and planning their future family.
Pat has worked for the same company for over 8 years and is an engineer. He works 10 minutes from their home and his job is flexible. He enjoys going into the office and has a close relationship with his coworkers. His hobbies include sports including softball, golf, and soccer, playing drums and guitar, and smoking brisket and grilling.
Brooke and Pat adopted their dog Jax in 2020. He is a Toy Australian Shepherd and is great with children.
In their free time, they love being together, whether it’s working on home projects, playing with Jax, staying active through sports and working out, cooking, or exploring new destinations through local restaurants and travel.
Brooke and Pat would be honored for a surrogate to help give their frozen embryos life. They are committed to supporting you however you desire throughout pre-pregnancy, pregnancy, and postpartum.
They will cover all costs and expenses as they would not want you to be out of pocket for your generosity.
