We first met thirteen years ago during our first years medical school. Rémy was eating a pepperoni pizza, Seb was instantly starstruck! We’ve stuck together since then and are still as madly in love as in the first days.
After med school, Rémy decided to specialize as an eye doctor (ophtalmologist) and Seb in treating cancer patient (oncologist). We’ve been practicing in the Laurentians and live in the mountains. We have two cats named Simon and Friz and we adopt chickens during the summer.
We both have a brother and we have always been close to them. Growing up, it felt really important to have someone to share our experiences with and it left us with many joyful memories. Rémy’s brother has three children which we adore and visit often.
In 2020, we finally decided to jump in the process of building a family. We went through the first step of making embryos through an egg donor and have now 15 frozen embryos which 9 of them are PGS. We then went through this program to find an amazing woman who carried our first child Colin. It was by far the most amazing year of our life. Not only were we able to meet our son, we built an incredible relationship with our surrogate, whom we now consider our close friend.
Colin was born in August of 2022 and he fills us with immense happiness. He teaches us so much about who we are and our bonds keeps on blooming. We definitely see a place in our family for a second child and for Colin to have a sibling.
Even with Colin in our life, we give extra attention to keep a balanced life. We love enjoying the surroundings, swimming at the lake, growing tomatoes, cross-country skiing on fresh snow and watching old seasons of Friends. Before COVID, we loved to travel the world. We nourish our close knit circle of family and friends that support us in this amazing process of creating a family.
During our first experience of pregnancy, we built a strong and loving relationship with our surrogate. We chat regularly with transparent speech and built our friendship through trust. We made sure all her expenses were always paid and that she had all she needed. We wish for the same on our second journey.
Through this new relationship, we also want to actively participate in the important moments of the process while still leaving space for our surrogate. We for sure want to keep contact beyond the delivery.
We truly are excited to meet you!
