About Us

We met in residence at Wilfred Laurier University in 2008. The following year we moved in with each other and have happily lived together since. After a few years living in Toronto post-university, we purchased our first house together in Whitby in 2016 and were married in the summer of 2017. Devin works in banking in Toronto and Patrick as an Architect Technician in Whitby.

We both grew up in small Ontario towns where our parents still live. Family has always been important to us and we maintain close bonds with immediate and extended family. Creating a family together has always been something we’ve looked forward to and we are so excited to navigate through this process. We’ve witnessed the joy and purpose a new child brings to your life through family and friends experiencing it over the past few years and are eagerly anticipating being able to do it ourselves - being well-involved uncles to our nieces and nephews has given us lots of practice in the parenting department and we can’t wait for them to have another cousin to build a lifelong connection with.

We started visiting surrogacy agencies and fertility clinics the year we were married in 2017 as we always new we would want children. After a long journey we are grateful to have 5 PGT tested embryos with Markham Fertility. We understand how huge of a commitment it is to be a surrogate and are so thankful to all of you reading this who have made the selfless decision to give back and help others build a family when they cannot do so themselves - even if we do not match we thank you for dedicating yourself and supporting this necessary and important process on behalf of all intended parents. We cannot wait for the next step in this process and are so eager to bring a baby into our family.

Our shared interests include travelling, hiking outdoors, skiing, playing tennis, sailing, camping, cooking, hosting dinner parties and spending time with friends & family. We spend most of the year looking forward to summer which brings us weekends with family and friends at the cottage. We love to travel and have been fortunate to visit many parts of the world together - we are excited to someday experience our favourite places with our children. We have a 3 year old golden retriever, Charlie, who loves spending summer weekends swimming and playing fetch and is ready and excited to be a big brother to a little baby.

We know our surrogate will be making sacrifice for us and we are committed to doing everything we can to make her experience as easy as possible. We expect to support our surrogate through every stage of pre-pregnancy, pregnancy and post-partum. We expect to financially compensate our surrogate throughout the process to ensure out of pocket expenses are covered and additional costs are not incurred by our surrogate as a result of helping us with our dream.

We hope to have a close and open relationship with our surrogate. We want to be as much of a part of the journey as possible. While we can be flexible our hope is to be present at dr appointments and check ups to both be a part of the process and to support our surrogate. After the birth of our baby we would like to keep contact with our surrogate and keep them updated on all important milestones in our child’s life (birthdays, graduation, special events etc.) just as they allowed us to be a part of the milestones of pregnancy.
