About Us
Like most modern couples we met online in October 2017. We took our time getting to know each other before deciding to finally go on our first date in January 2018. We went to a restaurant in Nick's home town of Orangeville ON, for our first date, we had an instant connection and never ran out of things to talk about. We both share a great love for the outdoors and spent many of our dates on hikes/outdoor adventures. We became inseparable and quickly realized we had found true love. In 2020 we bought our first home together that we share with our two dogs Mia and Dallas and our cat Sage. We are both very close with our families and early on in our relationship always talked about our dream to have children of our own one day. Being part of the LGBTQ2S+ community we are very lucky to have very loving and supportive family and we can’t wait to share this love with a child of our own.
Nick: I was born in the small town of Orangeville ON. At a young age shortly after my younger brother was born, my parent's divorced and I grew up with a single mother until the age of 10 when my mother met my stepfather who has been a big part of my life. Because my mother was a single mother of two young children, my grandparents became a big part of my life and played a big role in raising me. Some of my fondest memories are having weekly Sunday dinners where all my aunts, uncles and cousins would gather at my grandparents’ home, we would enjoy great meals and play board games and outdoor games/sports as a family. I hope to carry on this tradition with my own children. I feel fortunate to have grown up surrounded by family.
Steven: I was born in Portugal in the Island of Terceira and moved to Canada when I was 7 years old. I grew up with both my mother and father who were always very loving and my older sister whom I am very close with, she is one of my best friends and we talk each day. I come from a very big family with 31 first cousins, growing up we would have big family picnics and would all go camping each summer, and every weekend we would gather at my grandmother’s home for a BBQ. Spending time with family was a big staple in my childhood and some of my greatest memories was having this close connection with all my cousins, aunts, and uncles. I hope one day our child will have this growing up experience as well, they have cousins, aunts, and uncles waiting for their arrival.
As a gay couple our options of starting a family are limited, we considered adopting and did research on surrogacy, and in the end decided surrogacy would be best option for us as we both have always wanted children biologically related to us, and we are fortunate enough to be able to make this dream a reality. We have 7 frozen embryos with the help of an amazing egg donor from Tiny Feet and the help of NewLife Fertility Clinic.
I grew up always having dogs and cats and I am a big animal lover which has rubbed off on Steven. We have three fur babies, Mia the pug mix, Dallas a cockapoo and our sweet cat Sage. We are big outdoor people and are always out hiking or on walking trails in our free time, and happen to live in the Trail Capital of Canada (Uxbridge). We are very close with our families so most weekends we try to include them in our plans or go visit with them, we love hosting so our house is usually the go to place for all our family and friends. We also enjoy exploring Ontario and finding cute towns to shop local stores and try new restaurants.
We will be extremely grateful for our surrogate as she (you) are helping our dream of being fathers come true. We are more than happy to accommodate you any way we can during pre-pregnancy, pregnancy, and post partum. We will insure all your costs are covered and hope you will let us know if you need anything, please don't ever hesitate to ask we are both very easy going and want to help any way we can.
We hope to have a close friendship like relationship with our surrogate. We would love to be part of the whole pregnancy journey and attend doctors’ appointments if you are comfortable having us. We hope you would feel comfortable staying connected though phone calls, texts, or FaceTime with any updates and would love to visit with you as long as you are comfortable doing so. Are main focus is to ensure you are comfortable and happy during this time and want you to know we will be here to support you through every step. After the pregnancy we would be honoured to keep in touch and hope to maintain a friend like relationship. Having you as our surrogate is the best gift we could every ask for so keeping in touch with you and having you in our lives is the least we can do to show our appreciation.
We hope you enjoyed getting to know a little about us and we look forward to hearing from you!
